Why Sasha Banks should return to WWE as a heel

Becky Lynch

Speaking of Lynch, the Raw Women’s Champion is in desperate need of a challenger to her title that is going to be a believable threat. And rather than see yet another match between Lynch and Charlotte Flair, why not have one of the other Four Horsewomen step to the title?

Banks and Lynch have a history stemming from NXT that provides backstory which writes itself. Everyone remembers Team B.A.E., and their NXT Women’s Title match is still one of the best NXT matches of all time and it’s where Lynch’s career started to take off.

Most recently, Lynch became very vocal about Banks’ current status with the WWE. She posted to Twitter asking for a fight, trying to rouse Banks out of seclusion. When Banks didn’t respond, Lynch again issued a challenge when speaking with Sports Illustrated in May.

"“Come fight me, Sasha,” Lynch said. “At one time, Sasha Banks was the top dog, she was ‘The Boss,’ but Sasha’s fallen from grace. It seems like she can’t hack it. “Let’s prove something,” she added. “I know we’ve had tremendous matches back in NXT, and it’s been an age since we stepped in the ring together, and I would love to again, but this is a whole different kettle of fish. This ain’t ‘The Lasskicker’ anymore, this is ‘The Man.’ I would love to go toe-to-toe, ‘The Man’ vs. ‘The Boss,’ to prove who is the top dog now.”"

Whether Lynch was trying to bait Banks out of her self-imposed exile, or if there’s some real-life disdain there, either way it would certainly make for a great series of matchups.
