820. Senior. Justin Herbert. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Quarterback. 6

A rising senior, Herbert’s basically the old man on the list.

Much like Fromm, Herbert started as a freshman. The Ducks weren’t spoiled with four and five-star backups so Herbert’s first year was a bit rocky, but once he got acquainted his talent was obvious. He stands tall in the pocket at 6-foot-6 and weighs a sturdy 233 pounds. His size, coupled with immense arm strength, are the traits NFL teams desire. But first, the Pac-12 and the rest of college football get to enjoy him for one more season.

Success will define Herbert’s Oregon career, though, and he’ll need plenty of it as a senior to solidify any sort of status for himself. The individual career stuff is flashy – 7,070 passing yards, 72 touchdowns to only 17 interceptions. But his completion percentage in 2018 raised some serious questions and he’s had a history of injuries.

After completing 63.5 percent of his passes as a freshman and 67.5 the following season, Herbert’s completion percentage dipped to 59.4 as a junior. He finally stayed healthy and played 13 games, but his numbers took a bit of a hit. It’s not all about the stat sheet, though. Herbert is a big-time player primed to make big-time plays in 2019. He’ll be tested in the Ducks’ first contest, as Oregon takes on Auburn in Arlington, Texas.
