NJPW G1 Climax 29 Night 15: How to watch, match card and more
After a two day break, New Japan returns with the A-Block’s eighth night of tournament action. Here’s all you need to know about G1 Climax 29 Night 15 including how to watch.
The main event will be what has become a G1 Climax staple as EVIL takes on Kazuchika Okada for a third year in a row. EVIL will need to capitalize on Okada’s loss to SANADA on Saturday in order to still have a chance in the tournament. The show is set to take place on Wednesday, August 7, live from the Hamamatsu Arena in Higashi-ku, Hamamatsu.
All 10 A-Block participants will have their eighth tournament match including two first time ever singles matches (Will Ospreay vs. KENTA, Lance Archer vs. SANADA). Underneath them will be four tag team matches set-up as previews for the B-Block’s next set of tournament matches scheduled to take place the following night.

A-Block tournament matches

Hiroshi Tanahashi (4-3) vs. Bad Luck Fale (2-5)
KENTA (4-3) vs. Will Ospreay (2-5)
Kota Ibushi (5-2) vs. Zack Sabre Jr. (3-4)
Kazuchika Okada (6-1) vs. EVIL (4-3)
We’ve officially reached the point in the tournament where over half of the block has been mathematically eliminated from the chance of advancing to the final. Two matches (SANADA vs. Archer, Tanahashi vs. Fale) have zero implications on the final and both Will Ospreay and Zack Sabre Jr. are strictly in the spoiler role.
A seventh win for Kazuchika Okada will mathematically eliminate KENTA even if KENTA does manage to end his three-match losing skid against Will Ospreay. As long as Kota Ibushi wins his match, the result of the main event won’t have any effect on him. If he loses, he’ll need Okada to do the same.
After suffering his first loss of the tournament on Saturday, Okada will be looking to rebound against EVIL. The G1 Climax 27 saw EVIL in the exact position that SANADA was in last weekend. Okada had a perfect 6-0 record heading into his match with EVIL but that all came to an end after their encounter. EVIL will need to repeat those fortunes in order to keep his tournament alive.
