Tom Brady on Michigan’s chances, Spartans new uniforms, Alabama’s Marcus Banks’ goes viral in video of gift honoring late dad

Tom Brady goes Captain Obvious on Michigan’s chances, Spartans new uniforms, Alabama’s Marcus Banks’ goes viral in a video of gift honoring late dad.

Sparty goes radioactive

Michigan State officially unveiled their alternate uniforms they’ll wear this season. They teased the alternate uniforms in April and got ratio’d pretty harder than Neil deGrasse Tyson. You can hear this picture  it sounds like this, “Whoa, oh, oh, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh, oh, I’m radioactive, radioactive!”

Anyone else getting a hankering for some Doublemint gum? The good thing is if the lights ever go out the radioactive neon green should glow in the dark. Doctors warn you to protect your eyes before looking directly at the uniforms. But they do nothing.

NFL’s Benjamin Button comments on alma mater’s chances in 2019

Tom Brady, 42, is fresh off a contract extension and looking to win his seventh (SEVENTH!!!) Super Bowl this winter, but he’s also got his eyes on how his alma mater will fare this fall. Michigan is the preseason pick by the media to win the Big Ten.

That’s something the Wolverines haven’t done since 2004 when they shared the title with Iowa and lost to Texas in the Rose Bowl when Vince Young had an absolutely bonkers performance.

When asked at training camp about Michigan’s chances this year, the Goat turned into captain obvious and said it’s really important to beat the Buckeyes. Of course, it is. This is something Tom Terrific has said for years with the Wolverines losing seven straight to their rivals. Is this the year Michigan beats Ohio State? I’d say it’s about as likely as the Patriots and Brady missing the playoffs.

Cue the waterworks

Alabama cornerback Marcus Banks lost his father, Bobby Meeks, in March of last year after complications from surgery. His girlfriend Haven Lewis thought to use the recording of one of his father’s last voicemails to his son to be implanted in a stuffed elephant dressed in Alabama gear. Lewis shared the video, which is closing in on 1 million views, of her presenting the gift to Banks and his reaction to hearing his late father’s voice again is enough to make all of us cry in an instant.

“Hey, just want to tell you good job,” Banks says in the recording. “I love you. Keep up the good work. Get some rest. Hey, sky’s the limit. Keep doing what you are supposed to do.”

I don’t know how she will top this gift for Christmas or the couple’s anniversary, the 18-year-olds have been dating for about six months, but this gift is something that will be treasured forever.

I lost my dad in 2006 and not a day goes by without me wishing I could hear his voice again. I can only imagine how touched Banks was to receive this gift and the outpouring of support he’s received since the video went viral is sure to help keep the spirit of his dad alive in his heart.
