This Sunday at WWE SummerSlam 2019, Universal Champion Brock Lesnar, will defend his title against the self-proclaimed Beast Slayer and former Universal Champion, Seth Rollins.

For the last two weeks, Brock Lesnar has brutally beaten Seth Rollins to a pulp, sending him off in an ambulance two weeks ago after F5-ing Rollins onto a steel chair several times, followed by an F5 onto a gurney. This Monday, a hobbled Rollins attempted to challenge Lesnar, but was quickly dispatched by the Beast.

Despite the beating leaving many to wonder what kind of condition Rollins would be in for SummerSlam, Rollins grabbed a mic after taking his beating and guaranteed that he would not only appear at SummerSlam, but that he would win, “This is all I’ve got. I’ll be at SummerSlam. And I’ll beat Brock Lesnar. I guarantee it.”

No information regarding Rollins’ injuries has been released, per his request, but it’s hard to believe that he will be 100 percent come Sunday. And if Rollins isn’t 100 percent, it’s hard to believe that he will be able to walk away with the title. That said, one of Rollins’ specialties is defying the odds and doing things that no one expects, so it will be hard for anyone to count him out completely.

No matter what Rollins’ condition is come Sunday, the WWE Universe will expect nothing less than his best effort and will cheer him on in the hopes that he can reclaim the Universal Championship. Lesnar has proven time and again that he will do whatever it takes, underhanded or not, to win a match and keep his belt. He will even refuse to show up to events in order to avoid defending his title, as he did for months during his last tenure as champion. It’s one of the reasons the WWE Universe doesn’t want him to keep that belt. They want a fighting champion, and that is something Rollins will give them.

While the outcome seems to be a given, fans can expect a battle. Lesnar will be Lesnar and do whatever he can to win. Rollins will be Rollins and refuse to stay down, no matter how hard Lesnar tries to keep him down. It’s not just a battle of physicality, it’s a battle of wills. Lesnar is used to dispatching his opponents quickly, and is known to get frustrated when he can’t. Rollins refuses to stay down no matter who he’s fighting, and if he can get Lesnar frustrated, he will have a shot at victory.

No matter what happens on Sunday, this is one of the most anticipated matches of the event and will likely be one of the best matches of the night.
