Here’s the recap of all the high-flying action you may have missed from this week’s episode of 205 Live. Watch the Cruiserweights every Tuesday night at 8 PM ET on the WWE Network.

We had such an action-packed night this week on 205 Live that there wasn’t time for the usual filler. The opening was a video package dedicated to the Cruiserweight title picture. Drake Maverick says the No. 1 contender spot will be decided in a six-pack challenge. This is the first time this match has occurred on the purple brand.

The six-pack challenge consisted of Tony Nese, Ariya Daivari, Oney Lorcan, Jack Gallagher, Jr., Akira Tozawa and Kalisto. Nese, Tozawa and Kalisto have all previously held the Cruiserweight Championship.

Gallagher tweeted out this interesting fact about his title shots on 205 Live:

And Daivari had this to say on the six-pack challenge announcement:

This was an interesting way to name Gulak’s opponent. 205 Live is known for having tournaments to determine their No. 1 contender, so this was a fun way to change things up. These six were the right Superstars for this match. It has a combination of former champions and guys who never have held the Cruiserweight Title.

At this point, it’s best to have the winner of the six-pack challenge be someone who isn’t a former champ. Looking at these six competitors, it seems like there is an obvious choice as far as who would win the match and get the title shot at Sunday’s SummerSlam.

The show also is known for having excellent main events; would this match meet those standards?

Lince Dorado vs. Humberto Carrillo

Last week during a conversation with Lucha House Party, Dorado said that he didn’t think Carrillo was all that. Gran Metalik and Kalisto didn’t share his views and put him over. Dorado requested a match with Carrillo to test him one-on-one.

One of the issues that Dorado seems to have is that Carrillo doesn’t wrestle with a mask even though he does Lucha-style wrestling. Vic Joseph wonders if the Golden Lynx is jealous of Carrillo. Nigel thinks he could be because of Carrillo’s wrestling lineage and Aiden English says Dorado has to step up.

The match is fun and the Lucha style that we expected. Both men match each other toe-to-toe. As the match began to reach the climax, Carrillo dropkicked Dorado off the top rope on to the outside. He then launched himself through the ropes onto his opponent.

Both men are down and Gran Metalik looks concerned as he watches from the side. The ref is counting and Carrillo starts pulling himself up on the apron. Dorado realizes what’s happening and pulls hims out at nine. The bell rings and the match ends in a double count-out and the crowd boos.

Carrillo takes out his frustration by taking out both Dorado and Metalik. At first, the result was disappointing. However, it makes sense to keep their feud going. Both men ended up looking desperate and will absolutely want to face each other again to settle their differences.

Nese Promo

Before the main event, we get a Tony Nese promo. He thought he was going to win the title back at Extreme Rules. After losing, he realized that he needs to be more than a “Premier Athlete” and tonight is the perfect opportunity. Nese doesn’t know where he stands in the division if he doesn’t win the title back.

Devious Daivari

Backstage, Ariya Daivari is sympathizing with Lince Dorado about his actions during his match. He strokes Dorado’s ego and even suggests he leaves Lucha House Party. To further convince him, Daivari says, “look at Seth Rollins after he left The Shield.” Dorado isn’t buying anything he says and says that Lucha House Party is all for one and one for all. Daivari asks why Kalisto is getting a title shot instead of him. If he wins the Cruiserweight title, he’ll give Dorado the first shot at his title. Gran Metalik walks up and Daivari leaves to get ready for his match.

Crowning a Contender

Kalisto comes to the ring first, followed by, Tony Nese, Jack Gallagher, Ariya Daivari, Oney Lorcan and Akira Tozawa. The rules of the six-pack challenge are never explained, but all six men are in the ring simultaneously and the first Superstar who gets a pin is the winner.

The match begins with Daivari taking himself out of the ring, but backfires when Kalisto goes flying. When he gets back in the ring, they all attack him. It quickly turns into a free-for-all. Throughout the match, everyone gets a shot at potentially winning.

Nese hits a vicious running knee on Gallagher when out of nowhere, Lorcan suplexes Nese and gets the win.

Drew Gulak comes down to the ramp and stares at his SummerSlam opponent with his belt raised. Lorcan was the expected winner, since they’ve been using him so much between brands. The fans seem to really enjoy Lorcan and it was a natural progression.

Let us know your thoughts on this week’s 205 Live in the comments below. Will Lorcan unseat Gulak at SummerSlam?
