Early DraftKings MLB picks August 7: Roll with Cole

We have an unusual Wednesday slate for our DraftKings MLB tournaments. First of all, there are only 14 games instead of 15. Next, eight of those are matinee games, which is strange for a Wednesday. That means the early DraftKings MLB slate is by default the main DraftKings MLB slate.

DraftKings chopped off the CitiField matinee since it starts an hour earlier than everyone else, but at least they did us a solid and included all of the west coast games in larger DraftKings MLB tournaments. The Giants are in this one and the Seattle game is in the main DraftKings MLB tournament.

Rain: Cleveland(slight early, then diminishing), Detroit(very slight), Minneapolis(very slight)

Wind: NONE

Hot/Humid: Cleveland(humid), Detroit(humid), Minneapolis(humid), Houston(hot), San Francisco(very humid)

Pop up storms are possible during the day, but nothing that should threaten a postponement. The roof will likely be closed in Houston due to the heat.

The roof should be closed in Houston as well. With all of the humid weather gripping the Mississippi eastward, there are going to be balls flying all over the place.

Fortunately, I didn’t use Berrios, but I didn’t use Kershaw either. Wheeler was money, but the postponement in Cleveland ruined a couple of lineups. A failed Dodgers stack terminated another. My best line had Piscotty andĀ  a hybrid Reds/Astros stack.

These tips are based mostly on past performance. This is a nice tool for building a lineup, but should not be the only pieces of information you use. We have plenty of writers on here who give you relevant information no matter which site you play on, and we all attack the slate from different angles.

Thunder Dan uses advanced metrics. Lumberjack uses a lot of pitch data. Tulloch uses a lot of leverage plays. Joe Metz and Juan Bond give you all the value plays. Between all of us, you can build a beast of a lineup on any site!
