Twenty-one hours later, New Japan returns with the B-Block’s eighth night of tournament action. Here’s all you need to know about G1 Climax 29 Night 16 including how to watch.

The main event will be a showdown between Tomohiro Ishii and Shingo Takagi. Although he’s already mathematically eliminated from winning the block, Shingo has the opportunity to eliminate Ishii in Ishii’s own home prefecture of Kanagawa. The show is set to take place on Thursday, August 8, live from the Yokohama Cultural Gymnasium in Naka-ku, Yokohama.

All 10 B-Block participants will have their eighth tournament match including three first time ever singles matches (Jon Moxley vs. Hirooki Goto, Tetsuya Naito vs. Jeff Cobb, Tomohiro Ishii vs. Shingo Takagi). Underneath them will be four tag team matches set up as previews for the A-Block’s next set of tournament matches scheduled to take place on Saturday.

B-Block tournament matches

Taichi (3-4) vs. Toru Yano (3-4)

Tetsuya Naito (4-3) vs. Jeff Cobb (3-4)

Jon Moxley (5-2) vs. Hirooki Goto (4-3)

Jay White (4-3) vs. Juice Robinson (3-4)

Tomohiro Ishii (4-3) vs. Shingo Takagi (2-5)

Hirooki Goto can blow the B-Block wide open if he were to give Jon Moxley is third loss in a row. A win for Goto would not only position him ahead of Moxley in the block standings, it would also allow Tetsuya Naito, Jay White and Tomohiro Ishii a chance to tie up the block heading into the block’s final night.

Toru Yano and Taichi still have an outside chance of winning the block if they were to win out while Moxley dropped his two remaining matches. Jeff Cobb will be in the spoiler role as he’s set to square off with block favorite, Tetsuya Naito. Jay White and Juice Robinson are both in a must-win scenario in order to keep their tournament hopes alive.

Shingo Takagi is the only man coming into the night who’s mathematically eliminated from winning the block. Despite this, he’s remained scheduled for the night’s main event against Tomohiro Ishii. The show is set to take place in Ishii’s home prefecture of Kanagawa and a loss to Shingo would end Ishii’s chances of winning the tournament.
