8. USC vs. UCLA; Victory Bell

One of the bigger trophies in all of football, the Victory Bell is literally a 295-pound brass bell that used to ring atop an old locomotive. Originally given to the Bruins from alumni, the bell has been passed to the victors after each game since 1942; the winner paints it their main color.

The Trojans hold the all-time series over the Bruins, 47-32-7, but dropped last season’s matchup to the 2-8 Bruins. USC was 5-5 and fighting for a bowl game, but UCLA played spoiler and sank the Trojans’ hopes.

USC has the clear upper hand in this series, though, not just in head-to-head matchups on the field either. The Trojans have a better all-time winning percentage, more national championships, more conference championships, more bowl games, more all-time wins, more consensus All-Americans, more Heisman Trophy winners. Pretty much more everything. But the Bruins have the Victory Bell.

On Nov. 23 these two meet again, the Bruins expecting to keep the trophy while the Trojans will be looking to take it. Could Chip Kelly win this rivalry game in each of his first two seasons?
