College football rivalries: Ranking the 10 best rivalry trophies

3. Army vs. Air Force vs. Navy – Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy
There are only two NCAA Division I FBS triangular rivalry trophies awarded annually, the Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy is one of them. The trophy is named for the United States President, the Commander-in-Chief of the U.S. military services.
Air Force annually hosts Navy in even-numbered years and Army in odd-numbered, while Army and Navy typically play at a neutral-site like Philadelphia, New York or Baltimore. Not since World War II have Army and Navy met on campus to settle the score.
While the trophy’s been shared four times, Air Force has the most trophy wins (20), followed by Navy (15) and Army (8). Army, however, has won the last two and will be the first since Navy (2003-2009) to win three or more in a row.
Air Force will square off with Navy on Oct. 5 before hosting Army on Nov. 2, while the Army-Navy game gets a weekend to itself in December to culminate the end of the regular season.
