Liverpool faces Norwich City at Anfield on Friday, Aug. 9. Here’s all the info you need to watch.

At the time of writing – 24 hours before the Premier League transfer window was due to close – Liverpool had yet to make a purchase of note, and there were no indications that situation would change.

In the wake of the best league season statistically in the club’s glittering history, just keeping the existing squad intact should perhaps be seen as a notable feat, although large sections of the fanbase remain unconvinced.

Juergen Klopp’s clear hope is that with Naby Keita, Fabinho and Xherdan Shaqiri now fully immersed in his tactical set-up, and with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Adam Lallana finally free of injury, his team will be able to maintain last term’s high standards without any significant new arrivals.

Led by young German coach Daniel Farke, Norwich were deserved winners of the EFL Championship last season, courtesy of an attacking brand of football that saw them end as the league’s highest scorers.

They’ve managed to keep hold of the player most responsible for that feat, namely Finnish striker Teemu Pukki, who was the division’s leading marksman with 29 goals – and not a single one of them came from the penalty spot.
