FanDuel MLB DFS Breakdown: Cash Game Arm

Charlie Morton (11k) @ Seattle

Charlie Morton is really expensive today and this price might give DFS players some sticker shock at first glance, but it might be worth it to pay up for him in cash games today. The four pitchers who are right below Morton all face each other (Syndergaard vs. Corbin and Gray vs. Hendricks) and have considerably harder matchups than Morton.

Meanwhile, Charlie gets to face a Seattle squad that is striking out more often than Brian Tulloch did when asking girls out in college.

The 26.6% strikeout rate on the season leads all teams on any slate today and they have been really bad lately with a massive 33% strikeout rate over the last 14 days. That number is staggering and Morton represents a nightmare matchup for the Mariners as he and his 30% strikeout rate which is best on the slate.

When I see a matchup that is this elite, I’m just going to roster Morton and look for value bats to make it work. With 10 games on the slate and with it being a weekend, we should be able to find some cheap bats. The Rays should be able to get Morton a win, and his strikeout floor is probably 7 or 8 in this spot, it’s just too good to pass up.
