UFC Fight Night : Shevchenko VS Carmouche 2 MMA DFS Picks- Saturday, August 10th

What’s up everyone? I hope you all had a great week! We almost had a 6 for 6 trifecta but we came up just short for MMA DFS.

As always I will be giving my top plays for each week and this week will only be 4 MMA DFS picks due to the nature of the card and slate. Nevertheless let’s get into it!

MMA DFS High tier

Rodolfo Vieira (9,100) -225 to win

We get to finally see the UFC debut of Vieira. He is one of the best Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu  practitioners in the world. A five time BJJ world champion is not something to take lightly.

He has 5-0 record so far on the regional scene with 4 submissions to his credit and also one knockout so a path to victory is easy to see. He is also priced very nicely in the low 9k range and a grappling based fighter is the best to target on DraftKings.

He has a great probability to finish this fight as the inside the distance line is -170. Look for Vieira to take this fight to the ground rack up points from advances and sink in a Rear Naked choke in the first round making him one of the best plays on This slate.

Vincente Luque (9,000) -225 to win

Vincente Luque is a straight finisher! In 9 of his UFC wins he has won be either a KO or a submission.

In a DraftKings perspective he is elite of the elite when it comes to scoring as he always finishes the fight and hasn’t scored under 100 fantasy points all but once and it was 96! His opponent Mike “ Platinum” Perry always looks to make the fight exciting to watch and loves to throw haymakers to try and the fight.

That is not going to happen to Luque who has some great counter punching and loves to take the fight to the mat hunt for his signature D’arce choke. Luque is a stud and to make this analysis even better the fight is -245 to finish.

This makes Luque one of the best play on the slate in my opinion as he also likes to land 5.12 significant strikes per minute just upping his upside. Lock him into all formats!

MMA DFS Mid/Lower Tier

Geraldo de Freitas (8,300) -140 to win

De Freitas is an extremely aggressive wrestler landing 6 takedowns in his  decision  win over a good submission grappler Colares. That statement alone shows how great his offensive wrestling is.

His opponent Chris Gutierrez struggles have come against wrestlers  just in his tapes I’ve done research on. Making this a extremely great matchup for De Freitas. He is only 8,300 and has massive upside just on how is game plan should go, landing takedowns and advancing to land some good ground and pound.

This fight is also +125 to finish which isn’t bad at all which makes it more likely to see a finish. In my opinion he is the best mid range value target on the slate in all formats.

Gilbert Burns (7,400)  +120 underdog.

My favorite section of my articles! Who doesn’t love an underdog? Gilbert Burns  is taking this fight on short notice to face Aleksei Kunchenko. Burns is actually moving up to welterweight and that makes me extremely confident of him taking this fight to the ground.

His opponent is good prospect who hasn’t lost in 20 MMA fights. His ground game hasn’t been tested and I Burns is an elite submission grappler who loves the Triangle Choke from his back. His opponent doesn’t have an extreme output on the feet and that’s makes me feel confident that Burns with his athleticism can put up a good fight with the 3.30 Significant strikes per minute he lands.

If Burns can overpower his opponent with his takedowns I can see him massively blowing past his price tag and making him the best value play of the slate.
