2019 fantasy football quarterback rankings: Top 20
As you prepare for your 2019 Fantasy Football draft, one of the hardest positions to rank is the fantasy football quarterback. I break down my 2019 fantasy football quarterback rankings: Top 20 for you here, as a tool to use to conquer your league this year.
Fantasy Football Quarterback: 20-18
The 2018 passing leader comes in as my 20th ranked fantasy football quarterback. Ben Roethlisberger did finish last season as the QB3 in Fantasy Football but is missing his favorite target in Antonio Brown.
The Steelers do have wide receivers who are ready to step in, but we can’t just assume that the combination of James Washington and Donte Moncrief will be able to replicate what Brown was able to do.
Regardless of who will be catching the ball in Pittsburgh, we should expect to see Roethlisberger’s numbers decline in 2019. I am staying away from him at his current price.
Another veteran that finds his way at the bottom of this list is the G.O.A.T. himself, Tom Brady. Playing all 16 games in 2018, Brady finished as the QB14 in Fantasy Football. Like Roethlisberger, Brady is also losing one of his most reliable targets as Rob Gronkowski retired this past off-season.
The Patriots also may be without Josh Gordon this season, as he is waiting to hear from the league if he will be reinstated. Brady will be consistent week to week, but he is not a quarterback that will win you your league.
Make that three future hall-of-fame quarterbacks in a row ranked from 18-20. Now I’m not trying to pick on these older quarterbacks, but I’m just not all that into them. At some point in time, age catches up to quarterbacks.
However, Rivers does have the best weapons around him of the three. The Chargers did part ways with Tyrell Williams this past off-season, but Mike Williams is ready to take on the additional work. Hunter Henry is finally back after missing the entire 2018 regular season due to a torn ACL.
Henry’s presence will be felt in the offense and gives Rivers another weapon. Like Brady, Rivers should post consistent numbers but does not offer the upside I’m looking for.
