Here’s the recap of all the high-flying action you may have missed from this week’s episode of 205 Live. Watch the Cruiserweights every Tuesday night at 8 PM ET on the WWE Network.

This past Sunday at SummerSlam, Drew Gulak faced Oney Lorcan for the Crusierweight Championship on the Kickoff Show. Gulak won using dirty tactics by punching Lorcan in the Adam’s apple. Drake Maverick was busy trying to regain the 24/7 Title from R-Truth and was unaware of the champion’s actions until later. Due to his cheating ways, Maverick gave Lorcan a rematch tonight.

Oney’s response to this news:

Jack Gallagher vs. Akira Tozawa

As per usual, Akira Tozawa is accompanied to the ring by The Brian Kendrick. Kendrick has the most knowledge of any Cruiserweight about Jack Gallagher. Commentary believes he’s passed this information on to Tozawa.

Early in the match, Gallagher knocked Tozawa off the top turnbuckle, who hits his forehead on the way down. He seems pretty shook up and nearly gets counted out. Tozawa shakes it off and takes control of the match. He gets the win, but commentary immediately points out Gallagher’s foot may have been on the rope. The replay shows Kendrick furiously shaking the bottom rope before the Gentleman’s foot is on it and it may have slipped because of the shaking, but the clip is inconclusive.

Carrillo/Lucha House Party vs. Daivari/The Singh Brothers

Has Roman Reigns’ attacker moved to 205 Live? This match was originally supposed to feature all three members of Lucha House Party, but earlier in the day, Gran Metalik was attacked. Humberto Carrillo is already there when Maverick arrives. Metalik’s partners arrive just after. Carrillo replaces Metalik.

Commentary discusses the attack and they all quickly agree that it wasn’t Carrillo. McGuinness wonders aloud if Metalik was even attacked at all. After Dorado’s previous comments about Carrillo and their match last week, there are obviously trust issues. The pair put their differences aside to hit stereo dives onto the Bollywood Boyz.

Daivari leaves his partners after this. Carrillo goes to the top rope and just as he’s about to jump, Dorado tags himself in. Carrillo hits his move and quickly gets out of the way as Dorado does a Shooting Star Press to get the win. Carrillo has a fake smile as their hands are raised.

Gulak vs. Lorcan

Before their rematch, we hear from the Champion. Drew Gulak says that change is inevitable. He’s been haunted by his past like Tony Nese, Isaiah “Swerve” Scott and Oney Lorcan. He defends his actions from SummerSlam by saying that all is fair in war. Gulak declares that he “is the LAW.”

We also get a quick promo from Nese. After reflecting on his loss last week, he says he will learn from his mistakes and start over from scratch.

Has anyone else noticed Lorcan’s choice of gear color? In the Six-Pack challenge, he wore all purple. At SummerSlam, he wore yellow and black (NXT’s colors). Tonight, he wore purple trunks and yellow boots. I’m sure there is a very Oney Lorcan reason for this.

Once the bell rings, Lorcan aggressively goes after Gulak. The aggressive offense lasts for several minutes before Gulak elbows Lorcan so he falls off the turnbuckle. The champion drives Lorcan into the announcers table, hitting his throat. McGuinness states the table “moved a good six or eight inches” from the impact. Lorcan is nearly counted out and gets in the ring at nine.

As soon as he does, Gulak jumps from the top rope and hits his opponent in the throat. Somehow, Lorcan has a resurgence and nearly wins, but Gulak gets his foot on the rope. Gulak is now on the other side of the ring on the outside. Lorcan bounces his head off the announce table and the steel steps.

Once they get back in the ring, Lorcan chops the champ and it appears to catch his throat. After nearly pinning him again, Lorcan gets caught in Gu-Lock and passes out. Gulak retains.
