University of Notre Dame. The Leprechaun . 7. player. 819. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. South Bend

The Notre Dame Leprechaun is surprisingly the most-visible Fighting Irish fan in sports, contrary to the lore surrounding them about being shy with a desire to hide. The leprechaun is the first mascot on our list that’s not an animal or enclosed in headgear and a full-body costume.

Typically portrayed by a shorter male with a beard, the 2019 leprechaun will be a woman, Lynette Wukie, for the first time.

The Fighting Irish’s leprechaun travels with the team, but in addition leads the Friday night pep rally’s, wanders through the tailgate in South Bend and takes charge of the cheering during games in front of the student section. The Irish mascot wears a cutaway green suit, a gold vest and a green Irish country hat.
