5. Juventus will dominate again — but do they care to win the league?

This is a Juventus side that only seems to get stronger with each passing season. As usual, Juve did a very good job this summer buying and selling during the summer transfer season.

Why keep buying talent if they dominate already? Two words: Champions League. Juventus will not satisfied with capturing the scudetto every spring. This is a team built and focused on winning the Champions League. That’s what acquiring Ronaldo was all about. That is why the club spent money on the likes of defender Matthijs de Ligt, and midfielder Adrien Rabiot and Aaron Ramsey.

Juventus will be coached this season by Maurizio Sarri, the former Napoli coach who led Chelsea to the Europa League last season. It means Juve’s players will need to adapt to Sarriball, a method of play that worked at Napoli to an extent. He won no trophies there. At Juve, he has the players to do it.

The Turin-based club have the roster depth to stroll to another title. That’s not their main objective. They will focus on the Champions League this season. They can really win any trophy they want. It remains to be seen which one they ultimately lift.
