3. Atalanta will continue to turn heads

Atalanta finished third last season, the best ever in the club’s history. The pessimist out there would argue that the only place to go for them this season is down. The optimists (not to mention the club’s fans) see an opportunity for more success.

The secret to the Bergamo-based club’s success the past few years has been their ability to produce youth players in abundance. The team’s youth ranks are filled with talented teenagers just waiting to make an impact at the highest levels.

Atalanta, however, has also gotten older and more experienced. In addition to striker Duvan Zapata, the team coached by Gian Piero Gasperini will feature several newcomers in strikers Luis Muriel (from Sevilla) and midfielder Rusian Malinovskyi. This will allow the team to remain competitive both in league play and the Champions League group stage that begins next month.

Atalanta is a team that has effectively used their midfield and wingbacks to move the ball and outmatch opponents, even Juventus, the past two seasons. With their attack stronger than ever, there’s no limit to this team’s potential as they continue to shock teams across Italy.
