Arsenal face Burnley at Emirates Stadium on Saturday, August 17. Here’s all the info you need to watch.

Although they won ugly against Newcastle in their first match of the 2019-2020 Premier League campaign, the 1-0 result was exactly what Arsenal needed to set the tone for this critical season. All the pressure is on Unai Emery to finish in the top four and qualify for the Champions League one season after failing to qualify for Europe’s top competition.

Questions will continue to be asked of Arsenal defensively, but this is yet another opportunity for the back four to boost their confidence before facing Liverpool.

Burnley, however, could give Arsenal just as tough of a time as Newcastle, even on the road. They are coming off of a highly impressive 3-0 victory over Southampton, courtesy of a sensational performance from Ashley Barnes, who struck twice. Barnes could see some openings against Arsenal, though the Gunners will hope that the pairing of Sokratis and Calum Chambers can have a repeat performance from what they did to a promising Newcastle attack last week.

But the headlines will focus on Arsenal’s newest acquisitions. The win over Newcastle feature youth in the starting lineup in Joe Willock and Reiss Nelson, who both acquitted themselves relatively well. Dani Ceballos and Nicolas Pepe made uneventful cameo appearances off the bench, but they could start to generate some chemistry with Arsenal’s established forwards in front of a home crowd on Matchday 2.

Few will expect Burnley to even secure a point at the Emirates today, but if last week’s win over Southampton is anything to go by, they could be a surprise opponent for Emery’s side.
