2. Nicolas Pepe scores on first start as Arsenal rout Burnley

Arsenal host Burnley this weekend in a game that should only really have one winner. The Gunners were far from impressive against Newcastle last weekend but they managed to get all three points. Burnley, on the other hand were very impressive as they picked Southampton apart in a convincing 3-0 victory.

The Clarets will come to the Emirates with confidence but it’s unlikely that they’ll take anything from Saturday’s early kick-off. Arsenal have never lost to Burnley in the Premier League and the Gunners haven’t even dropped a point at home to the Clarets.

Arsenal fans will hope that their record transfer signing, Nicolas Pepe, gets the start this weekend after only playing 20 minutes last weekend. The Ivory Coast international was brilliant in Ligue 1 last season and has the potential to excite and entertain the Premier League.

Burnley will come for the point and hope to sneak something more by capitalising from set-pieces but Arsenal should have too much firepower for them. Pepe, Aubameyang and Lacazette have the potential to be a deadly strike force this season but it will be interesting to see how Unai Emery uses them in his line-ups.

Far too often last season it felt like Aubameyang was being asked to play a different role each week when he is so blatantly a goalscorer. There’s no doubt that he can produce quality from outside the box too but given the opportunity to play off the back of defenders and lurk in the opposition’s box, the Gabonese forward could hit 30 goals this season.

Games like this are free-hits for a team like Burnley. Anything they get is an absolute bonus and if they lose nobody will have expected anything different. Arsenal’s attacking stars will light up this match with new boy Nicolas Pepe bagging a brace as the Gunners run out 5-1 winners.
