Brighton defeated Watford 3-0 last weekend, with Florin Andone and Neal Maupay coming off the bench to score. West Ham had the unwanted task of opening the season against the defending champions Manchester City. The Hammers were trailing 1-0 at halftime but saw Raheem Sterling take over in the second half, scoring a hat trick. Manuel Pellegrini’s team will try to rebound against Brighton. Sebastien Haller will look for his first goal in a West Ham shirt. The French striker arrived for a club-record fee €40 million in the summer from Eintracht Frankfurt. In his two seasons in the Bundesliga, Haller scored 24 goals and added 13 assists.
