Every MLB stadium ranked from worst to best

13. PNC Park — Pittsburgh Pirates
There’s a certain level of under-appreciation for PNC Park, and we’re adding on another helping of it by ranking it here.
PNC Park is beautiful ballpark. There are few in the MLB that can match the breath-taking scenery that PNC Park offers baseball fans. It doesn’t matter in which seat you sit, you’ll be afforded a money-shot view of the skyline of Pittsburgh, itself one of the more underrated skylines in America.
We haven’t even gotten into the amenities PNC Park offers, which all translates into one of the more fan-friendly ballparks in the Majors. Even though it’s 18 years old, the staff has done a remarkable job keeping PNC Park fresh and modern-looking, and it’s safe to say that the ballpark is some years away from being known as just a functional ballpark.
Having said all of these great things about PNC Park, what keeps it out of the top 10 is the team that occupies it, the Pittsburgh Pirates. Like its counterpart in San Diego, PNC Park has not seen a lot of good baseball from its tenant, and no matter how beautiful the park is, the team’s performance is what keeps this stadium from potentially being one of the legacy ballparks in the league.
It’s disappointing that the Pirates can’t field a good team to fit such a gem of a ballpark, because PNC Park deserves a spot in the top 10. As we said about Petco Park, PNC Park is too beautiful to be deserving of witnessing poor baseball.
