12. T-Mobile Park — Seattle Mariners

If only the Seattle Mariners were a consistently good baseball team?

That’s the question that kept coming up when crafting these rankings for MLB stadiums because T-Mobile Park is another ballpark that deserves to be in the top 10 on this list. One of the metrics used when doing my rankings was the play of the team that ballpark occupies. That’s why Kauffman Stadium, Petco Park, and PNC Field, three beautiful and scenic ballparks, all fell out of the top 10.

You can add T-Mobile Park to this list as well.

It may not look it from the naked eye, but Safeco Field is now one of the older parks in the league. It opened in 1999 to replace the Kingdome, the Mariners’ old home which long surpassed its usage as a baseball (and football) stadium. The Mariners got their baseball-specific park, and what a gem it is. A view of Seattle’s skyline gives off scenic vibes for those sitting in the right-field seats, and with a retractable roof, Mariners fans are shielded from the unpredictable nature of Seattle’s weather.

T-Mobile Park has also helped revive the neighborhood it sits in, SoDo (South of Kingdome), which is now the epicenter of Seattle’s pro sports scene with CenturyLink Field in the same neighborhood. T-Mobile Park was built to modern standards that have allowed it to remain a high-quality stadium, but the Mariners’ lack of on-field success was the main culprit that kept this park out of the top 10.
