Predicting College GameDay destinations: Are they comin’ to your city in 2019?
Week 5: Sept. 28 – Ohio State at Nebraska
Scott Frost’s debut season at Nebraska was really a tale of two halves. He got off to a slow start but then the Cornhuskers began to show some life at the end of the season. Nebraska is hoping it can pick up where it left off this year.
Heading into Week Five, if the Cornhuskers are off to a competitive start, then they should get some love from College GameDay in Lincoln, as they host the Ohio State Buckeyes in a Big Ten battle. The Buckeyes, of course, are entering their first season in the Ryan Day era. Day is taking over for Urban Meyer in Columbus.
These are two younger coaches inheriting different situations. One coach is trying to return his program to prominence while the other is hoping to keep his at the top of the conference and in the College Football Playoff discussion.
Lincoln will be absolutely fired up for this one. If Adrian Martinez and company come out firing early, this could be one of the better early-season games in the Big Ten between the West and the East. All eyes will be on Justin Fields as well this season as he makes his Ohio State debut after transferring from Georgia.
There are some other options for GameDay in Week 5. Out west, USC will pay a visit to Washington. In the SEC, Alabama will host Ole Miss while Auburn welcomes Mississippi State to town.
