MLB DFS Pitching Plays

German Marquez  – Anytime I can get German in a good spot away from Coors Field, I try to take full advantage. The Cardinals will roll out mostly RHH, which really benefits German. They have a 22% K rate against RHP, 40% GB, and a .160 ISO. He also comes into this game in pretty solid recent form, in his last five games putting up at least 39 FD points. The strikeouts have been up as well, which really bodes well for his upside.

Pitch Mix   – Marquez uses the fastball, slider, and curve primarily, but one thing that I found very odd was the increase in sinker usage. The curve has been getting great whiffs at over 50% on the year, the slider is also getting 30%.

Recently the GB rates have been amazing, sitting at over 50% on every single pitch. He gets very solid velocity, but average movement. I think that Marquez is an excellent GPP play, that will be guaranteed to come in at very low ownership.
