DraftKings MLB picks August 23: Hit the Ryu, Jack

We have a pretty full Friday for our DraftKings MLB tournaments. There is a matinee at Wrigley between the Nats and Cubs. It will be pleasant weather for that one, but it is only available in DraftKings MLB showdown mode. If you play that, keep in mind the wind is blowing in. The A’s and Giants get a day off before tier tilt by the bay, so that leaves us 13 games for our main DraftKings MLB tournaments.

The pitching is still pretty stacked here though. Last night was very top heavy. This slate doesn’t seem to have that issue. There is a lot of garbage at the bottom, but also some interesting value picks. We’ll get to those after the weather.

Rain: Miami(moderate), Houston(slight)

Wind: 12 mph in from left in Milwaukee, 12 mph crosswind in Chicago

Hot/Humid: Pittsburgh(humid), Miami(both), Houston(both), Cleveland(humid), Chicago(humid), Milwaukee(humid), Minneapolis(humid), St. Louis(humid), Los Angeles(humid), San Diego(humid)

Most of the humidity is at a manageable level. The only places threatened by rain will probably play with a closed roof anyway. There’s no Coors, no Phoenix, and no Arlington with no seriously good hitting conditions. We’ll be relying on bad pitching, which there is plenty of.

An off night was bound to happen at some point. Cole was totally worth the money. A Detwiler dart worked out, but the main stacks failed. The only lineup that cashed for me was a White Sox stack with Detwiler and Cole.

These tips are based mostly on past performance. This is a nice tool for building a lineup, but should not be the only pieces of information you use. We have plenty of writers on here who give you relevant information no matter which site you play on, and we all attack the slate from different angles.
