4. Killian Dain and Matt Riddle go to war

After weeks of brawls and sneak attacks, Killian Dain and Matt Riddle finally met one-on-one in an actual sanctioned match this week on NXT in the main event of the show. If you were to guess that this match was incredibly hard-hitting, you’d be 100 percent correct!

These two didn’t hold anything back. Riddle started the match with a measure of revenge, attacking the Beast of Belfast from behind, something Dain has done to the King of Bros plenty over the last several weeks. This match was awesome, Dain and Riddle work really well together and this feud has done a great job building up Dain as a credible singles threat on the black and gold brand.

The finish came with a trio of Vader Bombs from Dain onto Riddle to pick up the win. The story of the match from the beginning was focused on Riddle’s injured ribs after going through the table at TakeOver. So the finish made complete sense. Riddle was protected fighting hurt and Dain looked like a monster; it was a win-win scenario.

The end of NXT this week was a bit odd. As Dain tried to leave, Riddle hopped on his back as he was going through the entryway to attack him while the show went off the air. We would have expected to see some footage of the brawl afterward but it was not to be. They ended up putting the backstage fight on YouTube so if you want to check it out you have to go there.
