Norwich vs. Chelsea live stream: Watch Premier League online
By James Dudko
Norwich host Chelsea at Carrow Road in the Premier League on Saturday, Aug. 24. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
Chelsea’s start to life under Frank Lampard has been anything but smooth sailing. The Blues have failed to win in three matches and have taken only a single point from their first two games in the Premier League.
By contrast, Saturday’s opponents Norwich earned plenty of plaudits for the way they dismantled Newcastle last week. The Canaries won 3-1, inspired by a hat-trick from striker Teemu Pukki, to record their first victory in the top flight since earning promotion from the Championship last season.
Norwich’s enterprising style of play, coupled with Lampard’s struggles, makes the Blues look ripe for another tough day. However, Chelsea are also trying to play an expansive game, and have been unfortunate not to be rewarded with more for their recent efforts.
There’s enough evidence to suggest Lampard deserves more time to get things right.

The Chelsea midfield is loaded with enough technicians to keep the ball away from Pukki and a fluid Norwich attack. Mateo Kovacic, Jorginho and Mason Mount can all recycle possession quickly and intelligently.
Chelsea’s problem is finding the right striker to cap the slick moves Mount and Co. put together. Olivier Giroud couldn’t find the net during last week’s 1-1 home draw with Leicester, but the Frenchman is adept at linking with runners from midfield through deft touches and clever flicks.
The former Arsenal frontman showed during the UEFA Super Cup defeat to Liverpool how effectively he can combine with USA international forward Christian Pulisic:
If Lampard wants more pace through the middle, he could turn to Tammy Abraham. The 21-year-old graduate of the west London club’s academy was subjected to racial abuse online after missing the decisive penalty in the shoot-out against Liverpool.
Lampard has had faith in Chelsea’s youngsters so far. Giving Abraham another chance to establish a rapport with Mount could have positive implications for the Blues’ season beyond Saturday.
Chelsea’s bigger concern will be keeping Pukki quiet. The prolific Finn has started life in the top division by netting four goals in two appearances.
Pukki provides a natural focal point for the Canaries’ neat and quick passing. His intelligent movement and tireless work-rate are also huge assets:
Norwich’s game is geared to finding Pukki in space. It could happen more than once against a suspect Chelsea back four breached seven times across all competitions already this season.
Center-back pairing Kurt Zouma and Andreas Christensen need to track Pukki’s runs and deny him room in the box. Meanwhile, midfield destroyer N’Golo Kante must protect the Chelsea defense from supporting runs by Norwich midfielders Todd Cantwell and Marco Stiepermann.
The Canaries have the resources to pile more misery on Lampard. Even so, Chelsea’s own quality in the middle of the park is likely to tip the scales in the Blues’ favor.
