NFL DFS: Projected Ownership

Projecting ownership isn’t all that easy in any DFS sport, but in NFL DFS we have the luxury of a full week between slates in which we can gauge how chalky players are going to be by Sunday. Because we have that full week to break down the slate, we usually see ownership start to consolidate around the best-projected plays by Friday. A lot of articles might tout a “low owned play” on Wednesday, but by Friday that player may be really trendy and no longer the sneaky play that they were supposed to be.

I will be partnering again this season with FanShare Sports and using their ownership projections from their premium product over there to make my GPP pivots. FanShare projections have been some of the most accurate in the industry and their product has continued to improve each season. They are vigilant about keeping tabs on every tout site out there and are able to give a pretty solid indication of which players will eat up the most ownership on a weekly basis.

Every week there are going to be good football players on good football teams that overlooked due to a tough matchup, high salary, or even just because there are other attractive options at the same position that are priced similarly. Using the ownership projections, you can find quality GPP options at sub 10% ownership and easily get overweight on them throughout your lineups.
