3. Justin Fields is ready to be a star
A lot has been said about Fields since he decided to transfer to Ohio State from Georgia, a five-star recruit, the second-best player in the class of 2018 right behind Trevor Lawrence, a talented passer that can use his feet, but what hasn’t been talked about is his ability to lead a team.
Most quarterbacks that are rated that high are normally solid leaders on the football field as it is just a quality that comes with being a quarterback. But being a leader as a transfer into the school in your first season isn’t an easy thing for anyone to do. With all of the great players on the offensive side of the ball though, it shouldn’t be hard to find a leader. All Fields needs to worry about is bringing his unique talents to an already loaded Buckeye offense.
Fields has finally been named the official starter for the Buckeyes, which is something that everyone knew was going to happen since he transferred to Columbus, now its time to find out what he can do. From the indications we are getting from practice, Fields is going to show everyone why Kirby Smart made a mistake not giving Fields the starting job over Fromm and making Fromm be the one to transfer out.
It’s going to be hard to follow up the season that Haskins had last year but Fields doesn’t have to be better than Haskins, he just has to be himself and unlike Haskins, Fields shouldn’t have to outscore the opposing offense as much this season.
