Takeaways from AEW All Out press conference and weigh-ins
Here are all the highlights of AEW’s All Out press conference and weigh-ins, which took place as part of Starrcast III weekend.
As is customary for All Elite Wrestling, the promotion held a press conference and weigh-ins on Thursday ahead of Saturday’s All Out pay-per-view event at the Sears Center in Chicagoland. Weigh-ins were essentially confined to one match — the six-man tag pitting SCU versus Luchasaurus, Jungle Boy and Marko Stunt.
First, host Jenn Decker brought out AEW Chief Brand(i) Officer Brandi Rhodes and Pharaoh. Rhodes announced that they have again partnered with PAWS Chicago, a local animal rescue and shelter and have again raised $10,000 for PAWS vis Sunday’s meet-and-greet with Brandi, Cody and Pharaoh.
MJF arrived, unsurprisingly making the night’s events about himself for a few minutes. He feigned interest in fielding questions from the fans, insulted those in attendance and proclaimed that his “best friend” Cody will defeat Shawn Spears on Saturday before leaving.
The weigh-ins for the six-man tag came next, with SCU coming out to the podium first. Scorpio Sky and Frankie Kazarian both stripped down (and both weighed 202 pounds); Christopher Daniels opted to remain dressed, and weighed in at 208 pounds.
Luchasaurus, Marko Stunt and Jungle Boy came out to be weighed. Stunt had attempted to weigh himself down with dishes and other kitchen miscellany, but it didn’t work out, as he had to strip down to be weighed. Stunt is clocking in at a svelte 102 pounds these days. Jungle Boy weighed in at 150, while Luchasaurus came in at two tons “and a Master’s degree.”
We then were treated to an appearance by The Young Bucks, who had two purposes on the evening: To put over their ladder match with The Lucha Bros (they promise it will steal the show and be “one of the craziest ladder matches in history”) and to announce that AEW will be returning to Chicagoland on November 27 for an episode of AEW on TNT. It, too, will take place at the Sears Centre, with tickets going on sale on Friday (tomorrow).
Hangman Adam Page was the last to speak, and said that while Chris Jericho has every reason to be desperate to win the AEW World Championship at All Out, Page has a greater purpose — to prove people right about him, given that so many higher ups in AEW believe in him. “Proving people right is harder than proving them wrong,” said Page, concluding our night.
