2020 NFL Mock Draft: Tua Tagovailoa heads to South Beach

The 2019 NFL season is almost here, and that means it is time to start our weekly NFL mock draft, which begin with a certain QB heading to Miami.
The 2019 NFL season is upon us, and on Thursday night, the Chicago Bears will take on the Green Bay Packers in an NFC North battle to open up the festivities. This should be another exciting season in the NFL, as we have already seen a ton of storylines heading into 2019, including the retirement of Andrew Luck two weeks before the season kicks off.
Here is our latest 2020 NFL mock draft.
59. . Quarterback. Alabama. Tua Tagovailoa. 1. player
The Miami Dolphins are rolling with FitzMagic this season, as Ryan Fitzpatrick beat out former first rounder Josh Rosen for the starting quarterback job. For Rosen, he had a one-year stint in Arizona, but when the team selected Kyler Murray first overall this past April, it was time for him to find a new home.
Rosen landed in South Beach, but the fact that he could not beat out the veteran Fitzpatrick speaks volumes as to where he is in his NFL career. Because of that, we like the Dolphins to not only struggle this season, but to land the No. 1 overall pick, which they will in turn use to select Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.
A lefty, Tagovailoa is one of the better signal-callers in the country, and is certain to hear his name called early next April. He will likely be leading the Crimson Tide to a College Football Playoff berth this season, and the pro ranks await him once he is all said and done at Alabama.
The battle for the starting quarterback job in Washington came down to Case Keenum and rookie Dwayne Haskins, whom the team took in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft. With Colt McCoy battling injury, Keenum was able to overcome the rookie, and the franchise is hoping he can play better than he did a year ago for the Denver Broncos.
To be fair, both Keenum and head coach Jay Gruden could be gone next season, as Haskins should take the reins from the veteran heading into Year No. 2 in the league. With a new franchise quarterback under center, the franchise is going to want to do everything to protect, and that could mean bringing in the best offensive tackle in the NFL Draft next April.
This is a franchise that is dealing with a very unhappy Trent Williams, who is still not with the team with only a week until Week 1 kicks off. Andrew Thomas from Georgia is the kind of left tackle you can insert at the position from Day 1, and it is clear it is time for the Redskins to move on from their All-Pro left tackle in Williams.
