Hurricane Dorian moved the start and location of the Florida State vs. Boise State game. Here’s how you can watch on TV and online, including how to bet.
Florida State will host Boise State in the opener due to the game being relocated due to Hurricane Dorian, which is not a Category 4 storm.
This is one of the most intriguing games on the Week 1 schedule and will see if Willie Taggart’s team has made significant improvements from last year’s disaster. The Seminoles missed a bowl game for the first time in decades, but a win vs. Boise State would go a long way toward instilling a semblance of confidence in his rebuild in Tallahassee.
Florida State will start James Blackman at quarterback after beating out Wisconsin transfer Alex Hornibrook. Blackman has starting experience dating back to 2017 when he filled in for the injured Deondre Francois.
While Florida State has struggled in their succession plan after Jimbo Fisher left for Texas A&M, Boise State hasn’t missed too much of a beat since Chris Petersen left for Washington and Bryan Harsin took over.
Boise State has won at least 10 games in four of the past five seasons. After losing Brett Rypien who had been a mainstay at quarterback, the Broncos will begin a new era under center. Boise State will start true freshman Hank Bachmeier, a four-star recruit out of California.

Prediction: FSU has the talent advantage. Boise State has the coaching advantage. Florida State also has the home-field advantage so that’ll be the difference in the season opener vs a very good Boise team. The biggest difference will be the experience factor with Blackman under center and the lack of experience for Bachmeier for Boise. Florida State gets the win but does not cover the 6.5-point spread and the under hits.
Score: Florida State 24, Boise State 21
