5. Cincinnati vs. Ohio State (-16.5)

Justin Fields announced his presence with the Ohio State Buckeyes in a big way. The Georgia transfer’s first game as the starting quarterback under new head coach Ryan Day got started with a bang. Fields capped off the opening drive with an electrifying 51-yard touchdown run and didn’t look back, stepping up with five total touchdowns for the Buckeyes in their win over Florida Atlantic.

Meanwhile, the Cincinnati Bearcats were also victorious in their season-opener last week as they grinded out a win — albeit an ugly one — over Chip Kelly’s UCLA Bruins. Quarterback Desmond Ridder showed some real promise at the helm of the offense, seemingly ready to help lead the Bearcats towards a big season.

While that may be so, the fact that they were only able to beat a UCLA team with their fair share of problems in the 2019 college football season by 10 points is not all that inspiring. The talent that Cincinnati has on both sides of the ball is obvious but their upside as they’re playing just the second game of the year seems to be limited, especially against a team like Ohio State that’s immensely talented.

16.5 points isn’t a small line by any means but it should be easily coverable for Ohio State playing in Columbus. Their high-octane offense that’s loaded with offense isn’t going to be stopped and the Chase Young led defense should be able to take a step forward after letting up last week and put the clamps on Ridder and the Bearcats offense.
