DraftKings MLB daily notes:

Pittsburgh’s hitters are still priced like Coors, so that’s enough reason to leave them alone. However, there is still some value in this lineup. Whoever starts at catcher, for instance. Both Diaz and Jacob Stallings are solid punts. Colin Moran and Bryan Reynolds are solid picks as well.

I guess it all comes down to whether you trust Nova’s hot streak. Some of the luster wore off after he was beaten handily by the Braves. Nova also gave up ten hits three starts ago. Carlos Santana is 7-18(.389) with two homers and three RBI against Nova. Kipnis and Ryan Flaherty have both homered off of him before. There are places to attack this if you so choose.

Shane Bieber has struggled against the White Sox twice this year even though he won both games. The Biebs has not had a scoreless outing since July 24. The strikeouts can only carry you so far. The 27 combined DraftKings points in two starts against Chicago this year have me staying away. Both Yoan Moncada and Jose Abreu have homered twice off of him. Welington Castillo has the other. Those are the places to go after Bieber.

The Twins have hit E-Rod hard enough that I don’t really want to use him for the price. Minnesota is hitting .306 with five homers and 13 RBI in 98 at bats. Cron, Willians Astudillo, Cruz, Max Kepler, and Jonathan Schoop have the homers. If you’re going after E-Rod, use some combination of those guys.

For all of the success of MadBum over the last six weeks or so, he still has a 4.68 ERA on the road. The Cardinals are hitting .321 with eight homers and 25 RBI in 190 at bats against MadBum. This isn’t some kind of small sample sized fluke. Goldy has three homers, 11 RBI, and a .343 average in 67 at bats. Yairo Munoz, Harrison Bader, Jose Martinez, DeJong, and Ozuna all have homers against MadBum. This is a good place to go for a contrarian stack or just to get leverage against an expensive pitcher.

Edwin Jackson’s best start as a Tiger came against the Royals, but you have to be nervous about a guy that has allowed 19 runs (16 earned) over his last three starts. This is probably a time to roll some Royals out there. Merrifield and Jorge Soler have the homers against Jackson so far. Hunter Dozier and Bubba Starling are the favorites to join them.

I see no reason to trust Sandoval against a pesky team like the A’s. Not when there are so many good options in the middle tier. I’m going to take a run at him with Profar, Seth Brown, Marcus Semien, and Matt Chapman. This is probably the closest to a full stack that I will get tonight.

It’s time to fire up Justin Bour. Bour is 7-34(.206) against Roark, but he has four homers and nine RBI. Justin Upton and Kole Calhoun have homered against Roark as well.

Is Senzatela just getting lucky against the Dodgers? Maybe, but it helps that he has kept the ball in the yard. Pollock and Corey Seager have the homers off of him. I cant argue with playing Bellinger even though he is just 1-8 against Senzatela. So long as Gavin Lux is a free space, I’ll play him too.
