WWE NXT UK preview September 4, 2019: Watch online

Previewing the post-Cardiff, September 4 edition of NXT UK, featuring Piper Niven taking on Rhea Ripley.
TakeOver: Cardiff was a smash, and if you don’t believe us, just ask Lin-Manuel Miranda. That does not mean however, that everything in NXT UK has reached a definitive conclusion. There are still fights to have!
One match left off the TakeOver card — one that probably could have been included, but the show was already three hours, and Noam Dar vs. Travis Banks ended up being good anyway — was Piper Niven vs. Rhea Ripley. These two have basically been feuding since Niven debuted for the brand a few months ago.
The trouble all started when Ripley said that she was the most dominant woman in NXT UK, only for Niven to walk down to the ring and proclaim that that was no longer true. Why? Because she was now in NXT UK, and how could Ripley be the most dominant woman when she, Niven, was the most dominant woman?
The two kind of hovered around each other while Ripley was reportedly shelved with an injury, but officially re-ignited things during the No. 1 contender battle royal at Download Fest. While falling off the apron towards the floor, Ripley made sure she did not suffer the indignity of elimination alone by pulling Niven down off the apron with her.
Finally, they had their one-on-one match on the July 3 episode. In a kind of short but nonetheless entertaining one, Niven pinned Ripley clean in the center of the ring. At last, the fight over “most dominant woman in NXT UK” seemed settled.
However, while Niven was in a tag match with Xia Brookside on August 7, Ripley came out from backstage. Furious that Ripley would dare show her face during a match she wasn’t involved in, Niven brawled with her rival, all the way to the back.
A week later, they brawled again. This time they were backstage, throwing suitcases against a wall and interrupting what was surely going to be a dynamite Jordan Devlin interview.
Now, by Executive Decree of his verified Twitter account, Johnny Saint made this match official. Being that it will probably main event, let’s hope they get a decent chunk of time to tear each other apart for our own entertainment!
