The first two episodes of NXT on the USA Network will be one hour long, with the second hour taking place on the WWE Network due to a scheduling conflict.

When WWE announced that NXT would be moving to the USA Network on September 18, they forgot about one thing: the final two episodes of popular television show, Suits, which currently occupies the 9:00 ET slot that would make for NXT’s second hour.

As such, WWE will be moving the second hour of the September 18 and 25 episodes of NXT back to the WWE Network. Per WWE.com:

"The episodes on Wednesday, Sept. 18 and Sept. 25, will air as follows:The first hour will air live on USA Network starting at 8/7 CThe second hour will stream live on the award-winning WWE Network at 9/8 C. The second hour will then be immediately available for on-demand viewing on WWE Network."

The hiccup is only temporary. But it will be interesting to see how they structure the matches, particularly on the September 18 USA Network debut.

Two big matches have already been named for the show, with Mia Yim, Io Shirai and Bianca Belair in a three-way match to determine the No. 1 contender to Shayna Baszler’s NXT Women’s Championship and Roderick Strong facing Velveteen Dream for Dream’s NXT North American Championship. Will those be first-hour matches on USA, or saved for the second hour on the WWE Network?

NXT will become a two-hour USA Network show on Wednesday, October 2, coincidentally the day that AEW debuts its weekly show on TNT. But more importantly, it will allow WWE, NXT and USA to ease into NXT being a live, two-hour show. It is true, though, that there could be a few issues with structuring the matches on those two late-September shows.
