DraftKings CFB running back picks September 6
Top Tier:
If you’ve read my stuff before, you know I’m a big Eno Benjamin fan. However, this is a place where I don’t think I’m going to use him. Arizona State should save him for when they need him. Get the win and get out should be the name of the game here.
Saving that cash could be huge. I have no interest in Cade Carney against Rice due to the Owls hanging tough against the Army option. It was actually a passing touchdown that won the game.
Middle Tier:
A healthy Nahshon Ellerbe could be huge for Rice. He only got half the carries of Walker against Army, but he did a lot more with them. I would like to see Ellerbe at the top of the depth chart before taking the plunge, but I would choose Ellerbe here if using one. It is worth noting that Wake’s rush defense looked good in the opener.
The two headed RB for Marshall makes DFS really hard. Tyler King had more yards on the same number of carries, but Knox found the end zone twice. I guess if you have to use one, use Knox. Using both is an interesting strategy since it seems to be a true timeshare. Florida State ran on Boise, but that was due to their massive offensive line. I’m not sure Marshall has the same success.
Bargain Shoppers:
The Hoos seem to have found a replacement for Jordan Ellis. It took all of one half. Wayne Taulapapa was big in the second half of Virginia’s win over Pitt. He could see really nice stats before resting against the Tribe and I love him at this price.
Boise was in the same boat as the Hoos trying to find a replacement for Alexander (the great) Mattison. Robert Mahone was that and then some. This Boise offense looked great against FSU and should be even better this week against Marshall. Mahone is going to be alongside Taulapapa is a few of my lineups.
Sacramento State ran the ball well in the opener. So did William & Mary. However, I’m not using anyone from either backfield, especially against Virginia. Elijah Dotson is an interesting play against Arizona State, but I tend to think the Hornets will be forced to abandon the run, which really limits the upside.
