College GameDay Week 2: Best signs from LSU vs. Texas

College GameDay signs always bring joy to fans on Saturday morning and LSU and Texas fans in Austin made sure not to rob anyone of that happiness.

It’s only Week 2 of the 2019 college football season and College GameDay is already having to make tough decisions. While Clemson and Texas A&M are facing off in South Carolina as a top-15 matchup, ESPN elected to eschew that game and instead will grace Austin with the buses, GameDay signs and everything else ahead of the No. 6 LSU Tigers visiting the No. 9 Texas Longhorns.

This is the perfect environment for ESPN to visit, particularly for fans watching at home that love to catch all of the College GameDays signs and laugh. LSU has a fanbase that travels well and will surely infiltrate the sea of burnt orange to get a burn of their own in. Meanwhile, the Longhorns faithful are always sure to voice their opinions.

Making the Saturday morning college football pre-show even better is the fact that this game has major stakes. LSU and Texas both have College Football Playoff aspirations this season but losing a top-10 matchup would cause those hopes to take a hit.

The players and coaches obviously are aware of this, but so too are the fans. That should make the atmosphere and GameDay signs quite passionate, which is to the benefit of us watching at home.

The main event is, without question, a top-10 showdown between two storied programs in LSU and Texas. However, the College GameDay signs in Austin are quite the appetizer and these were the best of the day in Week 2:

For good measure to add to the excitement, Matthew McConaughey will be the guest picker, representing the Longhorns, to be sure. So if there wasn’t enough fodder for fans from both sides, adding the founder of “Alright, alright, alright” to the mix only gives us more. Things are always going to be fun with GameDay signs in Austin.
