Top MLB DFS Hitters

Jose Altuve – I believe that there is a massive gap between Altuve, and the rest of the field at this position. This is generally a play that I absolutely hate, but Kikuchi is a terrible pitcher. He has a .235 ISO, 35% FB rate, and 37% HC rate against RHH, with only a 15% K rate. Altuve, has been doing very well against LHP, with a .381 ISO, 32% FB rate, and 43% HC rate against them. I fully expect this to be a popular play, along with a Houston stack being one of the higher owned stacks on the day.

Rougned Odor  – This is never a route that I like to go for cash games, but if you want to play JV, you need to consider saving salary everywhere. Odor has been a disappointment pretty much all year. Although he did almost win me a live final qualifier, so I guess I have somewhat of a soft spot for him. Odor will match up with Aaron Brooks, who has a .243 ISO, 33% FB rate, and 39% HC rate against LHH, with an 18% K rate. That is very important when playing Odor, because he strikes out 31% of the time. He does have a .198 ISO, 45.5% FB rate, and 40% HC rate against RHP. This is a boom or bust play, but Baltimore has a bad enough bullpen that I will have some interest in Texan bats.

Jurickson Profar – Speaking of disappointments, Profar falls in that category, especially after the great season he had the previous year. He is showing signs of life as of late, which as well all know, is very important when playing MLB DFS. Profar has a .208 ISO, 38% FB rate, and 37% HC rate against RHP. I already talked about Zimmerman above, but I really would like a back end stack here, using Profar at a pretty weak position makes sense. It is also worth mentioning that Profar is a switch hitter, which means he can he both RHP, and LHP. This is something I always try to take into account when building lineups, especially against bad bullpens. This ensures your hitter will have some chances at scoring points throughout the entire game.
