Just as the first football Sunday is about to kick off, ESPN’s fantasy football site crashed, creating panic amongst diehard gamers.

The first full Sunday of football season is here, and that means the first opportunity for fantasy owners to get a look at their squads. Many players will wait until the last minute to make those big flex decisions, hoping to get as much information as possible, and having a reliable fantasy site means you can edit your lineups right up until kickoff.

ESPN didn’t get the memo, apparently, as their fantasy football servers are down right now. This is causing absolute panic among owners who didn’t fully set their lineups, and they have every right to be upset.

Imagine for just a moment that you had a big flex decision to make, and one of the guys you had in your lineup was declared inactive. If you didn’t get him out of your lineup on ESPN leagues right now, you might be stuck getting the dreaded donut, making it more likely you take that loss no one wants to start the season.

ESPN has to be embarrassed that their servers went down right before one of the biggest fantasy football Sundays of the season, and its not good for any players who run their leagues through the site. There is no doubt that competitors like Yahoo, CBS Sports, and NFL.com are thrilled that their servers are holding up well in the busiest time of the fantasy year.

ESPN has yet to comment on the issues and when restoration will be taken care of, so hang tight fantasy footballers.
