26. Colorado Rockies, 61-84, last in the NL West (ranked 23rd last week)

The Rockies got their 2nd win of the month Tuesday night, beating a hot Cardinals team 2-1, but they’ve lost eight of their last 10 games and haven’t won a series since August 18th. You would think a team like the Rockies would be much better with an offense that features Nolan Arenado, Trevor Story, and Charlie Blackmon, but Colorado’s pitching is the worst in the National League.

Only the Orioles have a worse team ERA than the Rockies, and while the injuries have plagued the rotation and bullpen, the few healthy arms have underperformed greatly in 2019.  Sadly, the Rockies don’t have many pitching options waiting in the minors. LHP Ryan Rolison is Colorado’s No. 2 prospect and No. 85 overall according to MLB Pipeline but isn’t expected to be MLB-ready until 2021, so the current group of starters will have to rebound in 2020 or the Rockies are in serious trouble.

25. Toronto Blue Jays, 56-89, 4th in the AL East (ranked 25th last week)

Losers of eight of their last 10 games, the Blue Jays still have plenty to be excited about this season. Rookie SS Bo Bichette is OPS-ing .921 with 10 HRs in 38 games, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. looks like the franchise face Toronto was hoping for, but they lack front-end pitching after moving Marcu Stroman to New York.

Blue Jay’s top prospect in RHP Nate Pearson could be ready to make the jump to the majors after putting together a healthy 2019 campaign that saw him climb from high A, double-A, then triple-A this season. But even if Pearson is added to the rotation, the Toronto will definitely be adding rotation depth this off-season.
