NFL DFS: Kansas City Chiefs @Ā Oakland Raiders

Kansas City Chiefs

While the Chiefs offense wasted no time transitioning into the 2019 season, star wide receiverĀ Tyreek HillĀ suffered a collarbone injury that’s expected to sideline him for a handful of weeks. In his absence,Ā Sammy WatkinsĀ stepped up with the game of his life, posting just under 200 receiving yards and scoring three touchdowns. He’s way too cheap for the WR1 role in this offense against a porous secondary, making him an elite play. Because of the injury,Ā Mecole HardmanĀ is expected to step into a starting wideout spot opposite of Watkins. He’s minimum-priced on FanDuel and gives you cheap exposure to one of the top offenses on the slate.

Travis KelceĀ had a down game by his standards, recording a 3-88-0 line on 8 targets. The efficiency should spike back to normal and he should see added volume with Hill out against a defense that was dead last in the NFL in pass DVOA last season.

Damien WilliamsĀ andĀ LeSean McCoyĀ saw a rather even workload split, with the former garnering 19 touches and the latter garnering 14. If choosing between the two, William’s involvement in the passing game makes him more appeal. Given the fact that this game could blow out, we’re more like to see McCoy rest his veteran legs.

If you haven’t noticed yet, all of the Chiefs pieces are in play against the worst pass defense of 2018, which makesĀ Patrick MahomesĀ arguably the top QB play on the board.

Cash Plays:Ā Mahomes, Watkins, Kelce, Hardman (FD)

GPP Plays:Ā Williams

Oakland Raiders

While the Chiefs offense is 100% viable, a case can be made that you can say the same for the Raiders.Ā Derek CarrĀ was ultra-efficient in Week 1 and now gets to take on a defense that allowed the 2nd most passing yards per game last season. He makes for a phenomenal value play in tournaments. Pairing him withĀ Tyrell WilliamsĀ orĀ Darren WallerĀ makes sense and they can each be used as standalone assets in cash. They’re both way too cheap and saw a 26.9% and 30.7% respective target share in week 1 while Williams was able to snag a touchdown.

Josh JacobsĀ didn’t have the most efficient day on the ground, but saw a total of 24 touches for 113 yards and 2 touchdowns in his pro debut. Game script could be a concern here, but as such a vital part of this offense, it’s hard to envision a scenario in which he’s completely phased out. He’s an elite play on DraftKings at his ridiculous price point.

Cash Plays:Ā Williams, Waller, Jacobs (DK), Carr

GPP Plays:Ā Jacobs (FD)
