NFL DFS: New England Patriots @ Miami Dolphins

New England Patriots

This game is going to be a bloodbath and I want to get that out of the way right off the bat. The Dolphins have seemingly mailed it in after allowing 59 points to the Ravens offense, as multiple players have reportedly requested trades.

If the Ravens were able to put up 59, I can’t imagine what Tom Brady and company will do. They absolutely dismantled the Steelers to the tune of a 33-3 score with just about everyone getting involved. Brady topped 340 yards with 3 scores and now has yet another elite receiver to use in the passing game. If this game ends up in a blowout like we suspect it will, it will be at the hands of Tom Brady.

Julian EdelmanJosh Gordon and Antonio Brown all have massive ceilings, but will inadvertently cut into each others’ floors a bit. Based on sheer volume, I would look towards Edelman to be the most reliable option as Brown gets familiar with the offense and Gordon remains a big-play threat. On DraftKings, however, the $7,000 price-tag on Brown is way too cheap to pass up in cash games. Phillip Dorsett absolutely exploded for 100+ yards and a pair of touchdowns, but the addition of Brown knocks him too far down the depth chart to trust in anything this week.

Sony Michel had a game to forget, rushing for only 14 yards on 15 carries. The bright spot, however, is the usage. The fact that he still received 56% of the running back carries with his extreme inefficiency should speak volume to the trust that the team has in him. This is a prime get-right spot at a dirt-cheap salary. James White saw just 4 carries, but brought in 5 of 7 targets in the passing game. With the addition of Antonio Brown, it’s easy to assume that White could see a reduction in targets, but still makes sense on DraftKings in a game in which he should rack up dump-offs over the middle.

Miami Dolphins

There’s little, if anything, to like about the Dolphins side of the ball in this game. Ryan Fitzpatrick and the rest of the offense looked lost and erratic against the Ravens defense and face another tough test this week.

The only player that I would consider taking a shot on in a game-stack is DeVante Parker. He remains dirt-cheap across the industry and while he only recorded 3 catches, he did see 7 targets and was able to turn his 3 catches into 75 yards, pacing the offense in all three categories. He should continue to see an expanded role with the departure of Kenny Stills and Fitzpatrick should be forced to air it out early and often this week.
