2. Chargers -2.5

The Los Angeles Chargers didn’t have Melvin Gordon and a few other stars in Week 1, but they still managed to pick up a win over the Andrew Luck-less Indianapolis Colts. This game ended up going to overtime, but the Chargers did build a 24-9 lead before Jacoby Brissett led a furious comeback to force the extra session.

It appears that the comeback has soured the oddsmakers on the Chargers, who are only 2.5 point favorites heading on the road to take on the Detroit Lions. The Lions blew a big lead of their own against Arizona, but they were unable to reclaim a victory, instead settling for a tie with the Cardinals.

In pretty much every sense, the Lions are an average football team, while the Chargers are an exceptional one even without Gordon and Derwin James. The Lions do have home field advantage and this game is being played at 1:00 p.m., meaning the Chargers will play at 10:00 a.m. body time, but the line is still small enough to not be a significant factor.

At only 2.5 points, a field goal victory is all it will take for the Chargers to cover and give you a win. Since they are the far superior football team, take the 2.5 points and run to your nearest gambling establishment to put some cash down on Philip Rivers and friends.
