PGA FanDuel picks: The 2019 Greenbrier
Welcome to this week’s edition of PGA FanDuel Picks from FanSided Fantasy. Here you will find players to target for the 2019 A Military Tribute at The Greenbrier, taking place at The Old White TPC golf course in White Sulpher Springs, West Virginia.
In this article, I will present to you some PGA FanDuel picks to consider from each price tier for this week’s contests. Some plays will be geared toward cash games, and some for GPP tournaments. Some, of course, will also technically qualify as both.
As we break each play down, I will be sure to specify which type of contests I am targeting that player in. I will give two players to target from $11K up to the top salary, two targets from the $10K-$11K range, and two from the $9-10K range.
After that will be my top value plays from the $8-9K range, along with a couple of GPP flyers to consider for tournament play. Last but certainly not least, I will end the article the ever-popular sample lineup we like to do here at FanSided Fantasy.
If you are ever curious as to how things worked out last week and so far this season, my picks along with the other top experts in the field are tracked at Daily Overlay.
Well, the field isn’t star-studded or anything this week, but nevertheless I am still excited for some PGA DFS after a couple of weeks off. 156 golfers will tee it up for the Greenbrier to kick off the 2019-2020 FedEx Cup season, and possibly the most interesting item of note is the fact that we could very well see relative dominance from the new faces on Tour.
We saw it a little bit in July when Matthew Wolff and Collin Morikawa were winning events in relatively weaker fields. This week I am thinking more of the same with guys like Viktor Hovland, Joaquin Niemann, and Sungjae Im rounding out to be top plays.
There are also over 40 new faces to sort through from golfers both young and old who will play on exemption due to their finishes on the Korn Ferry Tour. Scottie Scheffler will be the name you hear about the most. and guys like 28-year-old European Tour Englishman Tom Lewis who won the Korn Ferry Tour Championship will also be popular options.
For large, weaker fields like this, I am 100% stars and scrubs. If I can do it, I want three of these guys $11K or over in my lineup, as I feel like a balanced approach with mid-tier guys will just not work this week. With the uncertainty and volatility of the mid-tier range and the amount of value we have to choose from, this approach was not a difficult decision to come to this week.
