Liverpool vs. Newcastle live stream: Watch Premier League online
By Adam Stocker
Liverpool face Newcastle at Anfield on Saturday, Sept. 14. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
The Premier League season resumes after the international break. In the first game to kick off on Saturday, Liverpool host Newcastle at Anfield. The Reds are first in the table after four games, winning all of their games. The Magpies have four points from their first four games.
The Reds have outscored their opponents 12-3 this season. The Reds are led by their electric front three of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino. Salah leads the club with three goals, while Mane and Firmino have each scored twice.
Liverpool keeper Alisson is expected to miss Saturday’s game with a hamstring injury. In his place, Adrian will make his fourth straight start. Adrian’s job in goal has been made significantly easier with Virgil van Dijk playing in front of him. Van Dijk has emerged as the best center-back in the world and some pundits are starting to wonder if he is the best center-back to ever play in the Premier League.
After losing their first two games of the season, Newcastle have bounced back, picking up four points in their last two games. In their last game, the Magpies drew 1-1 with Watford. While Newcastle have only scored three goals this season, the second-fewest in the Premier League, they have only allowed five goals, the seventh-fewest. Steve Bruce will likely use a very defensive gameplan against Liverpool. Do not expect Newcastle to commit many people forward on the attack. Instead, Newcastle will try to keep as many people back as possible and then look to counter when Liverpool get too many players to far forward upfield.
