The feud between Kofi Kingston and Randy Orton finally comes to a head this Sunday when they meet at Clash of Champions to battle for the WWE Championship.

The rivalry between Kofi Kingston and Randy Orton started 10 years ago as Kingston attempted to prove that he belonged in WWE. He proved he belonged when he leg-dropped Orton through a table at Madison Square Garden, a feat he duplicated this week on SmackDown Live.

The rivalry between the two men was rekindled a few months ago and their meeting at SummerSlam was supposed to put things to bed. But the match ended in an unsatisfying double count out as Orton taunted Kofi’s family. Kofi wanted to prove that he’s not the same man he was 10 years ago and beat The Viper around the arena with a kendo stick.

Since then, Orton has come out calling Kingston “stupid” and further playing on his emotions to bait him into fights. He even teamed up with The Revival to bring attacks on The New Day, going so far as to incite The Revival to attempt to break Xavier Woods’ leg while forcing Kofi to watch.

Kingston continues to prove that he’s not the same man he was 10 years ago and that he deserves to be WWE Champion by not backing down from Orton. The Viper baited Kingston again this past Monday at MSG, once again calling him “stupid” and saying that while Kofi has done two things in the last 10 years, The Viper has done vastly more.

He would continue to play on Kofi’s emotions and bait him out of the ring and into the WWE Universe where Kofi would attack Orton only to be met with a steel chair. But Kingston turned the tables on the 13-time Champion, using the steel chair and ultimately leg-dropping him through a table once again.

The feud between The Viper, a man with seemingly no conscience, and Kingston’s Power of Positivity will culminate this Sunday at Clash of Champions when the two men battle it out for the WWE Championship. Kofi has had the title since April at WrestleMania and has no desire to give it up, while Orton would love to be a 14-time champion. This match is one that is hard to predict, but is sure to be entertaining.
