Barcelona vs. Valencia live stream: Watch La Liga online
By Warren Pegg
Barcelona face Valencia at Camp Nou on Saturday, Sept. 14. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
Barcelona were distinctly second-best against Osasuna during the opening 45 minutes of their last game. Lionel Messi is still unavailable due to injury, and it remains to be seen how much long-term damage has been done to squad morale by the Neymar farrago, during which it was made clear to several senior players that they were expendable.
So it’s a measure of the disarray in which Valencia find themselves that they’ve generated more headlines than Barca in the run-up to this game.
On Wednesday, the club dismissed head coach Marcelino, who’d guided them to consecutive fourth-place finishes, as well as a Copa del Rey triumph in May. This move came as a shock because, while it had seemed at the very start of the season that Marcelino might well jump ship if sporting director Mateu Alemany was fired, that crisis seemed to have blown over.
He’s been replaced by 43-year-old Albert Celades, a former defensive midfielder who made more than 50 appearances for both Real Madrid and Barcelona, as well as four caps for the Spanish national team.
Celades returned to the Spain set-up in 2013 to coach various youth sides and most recently was an assistant to Julen Lopetegui during his short-lived stint at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Barcelona-born Albert Celades was only appointed head coach of Valencia on Wednesday. He couldn’t have asked for a more difficult debut.
