On Saturday, fans of the Georgia Bulldogs honored the late wife of Arkansas State head coach Blake Anderson with a wonderful gesture.

The Georgia Bulldogs are hosting the Arkansas State Red Wolves. Georgia will win, but Blake Anderson will forever remember it fondly.

Anderson, the Red Wolves head coach, had been on a leave of absence after his beloved wife, Wendy, passed away from cancer on Aug. 19. This is his first week back on the sideline since the tragedy. The story of the Andersons has traveled nationwide in college football circles, spurring Georgia fans to wear pink to honor Wendy’s fight. The result is the best thing you’ll see all week.

The capacity crowd in Athens is largely clad in pink, showcasing a tremendous amount of awareness and respect for both the Anderson family and Arkansas State.

Earlier in the week, Anderson spoke to ESPN’s Paul Finebaum about the gesture, and his feelings on what is a class move by the Georgia student body.

"“When I got the message, I guess yesterday, someone sent it to me…I will be honest, I was overwhelmed with it,” Anderson said. “It brought me to tears yesterday. I cannot tell you – I just know right now everything is very raw and very fresh. The show of support has been overwhelming at times. We are doing everything for the first time. Me and my kids are doing everything for the first time without her that we have been doing for so long. I cannot tell you how we will respond.”"

Anderson’s return to the team was caught on video a week ago, showcasing the love he’s felt since enduring such heartbreak.

To this point, the Red Wolves are 1-1 and after playing in Georgia, will return to Arkansas to prepare for their conference schedule.
